Nadia is a native New York artist living in Brooklyn, New York.
As a young artist, she designed jewelry and functional art, before evolving to painting pet portraits, city and seascapes. She always used her photo images as a starting point for her paintings. She separately spent 20 years as a graphic designer and art director for print and website designs.
In 2014, her niece introduced her to Instagram. Shortly after being exposed to this platform, she retired her painting process and considered photography to be the gateway to her new creative expression. She has since been in three art shows, was hired by Adobe for a mobile Lightroom campaign, was included in Rizzoli's New York City on Instagram book featuring prominent NYC Instagram photographers, and is an influencer for a helicopter company in NYC - to name a few of her accolades.
While she is humbled and trilled with the many opportunities that have come with her pursuit of photography, her most rewarding work so far has been partnering with nonprofits; helping tell nonprofit stories with her lens. In November 2018, she traveled to India with Nomi Network, which is working in the women's anti-trafficking space. Separately in June 2019, Block went on a mission to the Philippines with Watts of Love, which distributes solar panel lights to communities without electricity. She looks forward to using her camera more, to help show and tell social change stories.
